Fun with Bureaucracy! (part 2)
Yesterday we went downtown to once again try and apply for Analeigh’s birth certificate. Amazingly, when we arrived, there was only a fraction of the people waiting at the Registro Civil. We pretty much got right in, and the lady in the documentation office was very friendly and helpful (she can’t last long as a government employee). We were able to change her name (she is now officially Analeigh Grace Hess Hess) and apply for her birth certificate, which we were told we can pick up on February 11. Apparently printing takes longer at government offices. In any case, we were very thankful that this step in the process is done, and hopefully in a couple of weeks we can begin the process at the American embassy. After the multitude of company we have had in the past couple weeks, it was nice to relax and do nothing today. We planted some new flowers in the backyard, and just generally laid around the house. Tomorrow is church and homework, then its a new week of school. Thanks everyone for the phone calls, e-mails and prayers. It means so much to us!
