A Case of the Shakes

November 13th, 2009 by doug

Until today we had been through tornadoes, blizzards and floods in Kentucky, through forest fires and hurricanes in Florida. Today we added a new natural disaster as a magnitude 5.0 earthquake shook San Jose. This afternoon, while talking with one of our teammates at her house, we suddenly felt the ground shake and heard what sounded like loud thunder. Everything on the walls and on tables rattled and some things fell over. There was no significant damage, and nobody was hurt. Apparently this is not uncommon here (Costa Rica is on a large fault line). It was actually kind of cool. With that we wrap up week three, and look forward to what will hopefully be a relaxing weekend. Thanks for all your prayers, calls, blog comments and e-mails…we really do appreciate hearing from ya’ll!

Hello dear ones, I hadn’t realized you went thru a earthquake. Guess you’re one up on all of us from Florida. I love all of you very much, Nana
