What?

In the Western world, we often take education for granted.  Whether one desires to be a lawyer, accountant, teacher, engineer or physician, the education to achieve that goal is available and within reach for virtually everyone.  This holds true for pastors as well, for whom Bible college and/or seminary is not only available, but often a necessary pre-requisite for pastoring a church in North America.  In much of the developing world, however, education is a luxury.  Although schools exist, they are often only available for those who have financial means, or who live in big cities.  For every pastor who lives in a city and has the opportunity to attend Bible college or seminary, there are often dozens who live in rural areas and lack these opportunities.  Although there are good Bible colleges and seminaries in Argentina and Paraguay, they alone cannot meet the growing need for theological education among pastors and church leaders.  Many of these pastors live in rural areas, hundreds of miles from a large city.  They are often very poor, and often have little more than a fourth grade education.  Our ministry will work to meet the needs of these pastors in northern Argentina and Paraguay.  We will provide informal theological education that will allow pastors to stay where they are while expanding their Bible and theological knowledge.  This training will be designed to equip them to better understand Scripture, and to use that understanding to disciple their church members, as well as plant new churches in their communities.  Our goal will be to train the pastors in such a way that they can train others, so that the education multiplies over time.
